PTE Module Formats

The Speaking & Writing module evaluates your spoken English, pronunciation, fluency, grammar, and written communication skills through integrated tasks.

The section includes tasks such as Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, Describe Image, Retell Lecture, Answer Short Question, Summarize Written Text, and Essay Writing.
Responses are recorded through a computer microphone and assessed by AI-based scoring systems.
Pronunciation, oral fluency, vocabulary, grammar, and written discourse all contribute to the scoring.
Time management and clarity of communication are essential for achieving a high score.

The Speaking & Writing section typically lasts between 54–67 minutes and combines multiple communicative skills into one integrated assessment.

The Reading module assesses your ability to understand academic English texts and interpret written information effectively.

Question types include Multiple Choice, Re-order Paragraphs, Fill in the Blanks, and Reading & Writing Fill in the Blanks.
Passages are based on academic subjects and real-world scenarios.
Grammar, vocabulary, contextual understanding, and logical sequencing are important skills in this section.
Candidates must carefully manage time to complete all tasks within the allotted duration.

The Reading section generally lasts 29–30 minutes and evaluates comprehension, analytical thinking, and language accuracy.

The Listening module measures your ability to understand spoken English in academic and everyday contexts.

Tasks include Summarize Spoken Text, Multiple Choice, Fill in the Blanks, Highlight Correct Summary, Select Missing Word, and Write from Dictation.
Audio clips may contain various English accents commonly used in international settings.
Candidates are tested on listening comprehension, note-taking, spelling, and interpretation skills.
Strong concentration and quick response abilities are essential throughout the section.

The Listening section typically lasts 30–43 minutes and requires candidates to accurately process and respond to spoken information.

PTE Exam Format

The PTE Academic test is a fully computerized, 2-hour English proficiency exam. It is divided into three timed sections: Speaking & Writing (taken together), Reading, and Listening. Scores range from 10 to 90 points based on the Global Scale of English.
